Description

Hello everybody!, I think that I don't have send this ticket before so.. I send it now :)

I need to tell you all that there's a NEW way to made translations in Elive, totally undependant of any knowledgement, graphically, very easy... its called eltrans and it's amazing :), so, forget all the SVN and stuff's from here and just try eltrans ;)

I leave in a comment, the template that I use on the emails for the new translators, with a brief description of Eltrans and how to install it (and where!)

Note: be sure that your version of Eltrans is at least 1.2, because there's a bug found in 1.1

Thanks Everybody for your colaboration!

Where download eltrans:

This is a extract of my template of email for new translators:

We dont use the same way that before with command-line and things, now, you just need 'eltrans', eltrans is a graphical tool that does everything automatically, just install it from http://repository.elive-systems.com/pool/main/e/eltrans/ if you don't have it actuallly installed

Note: users from Gem, first install 'poedit' and do these configurations:

  • File -> preferences -> disable the "compile .mo files" option.
  • Go to the View tab and unselect both options about "show comments"

With this account you can also have a login in http://dev.elivecd.org where if you look at examples like in http://dev.elivecd.org/wiki/HowtoTranslations (note, this article contains a obsolete way to do translations, if anybody wants to update it just including the examples of the website view/download of revisions/commits and with this email contents, is WELCOME!), there's a lot of usefull features like:

Note: remember to add your email at the 'settings' part (near to the login button) that you can receive a email from this website if somebody mades you a 'ticket'

Thanks for your colaboration with Elive!
