Development releases

Warning

This development version of Elive is in a hard development state, I know that there are some things that are not implemented correctly and others that just don't work, please do not report anything here, make your comments on the IRC chat #elive-unstable channel

To be tested

• Multi-sounds system (you can play different sounds at the same time), try with mplayer, xmms, youtube, etc etc etc, and please report any applications you find that don't have this feature working by default
• boot from external devices (usb stick, usb cdrom, firewire, etc)
• installation step: set the $ character at the user and also in the password and see if you can login after you have installed
• 1.0.2 languages system working correctly, try different languages (multi-languages added) and switch between various languages
• 1.0.2 Installer feature: convert other linux system to an Elive system (you need to select the root partition of the system that you want to replace by Elive, that uses a separated /home partition), WARNING, dangerous feature not tested yet, do it only on testing machines

• Please, do not report:
  • booting messages / boot process
  • language problems (see below)
  • bad organization of applications in the menus / not all the applications listed on the menus
  • Look: the look'n'feel doesn't look bad, but it is not yet finished and there' is a temporal look
  • E17 theme problems: This theme needs to be rewrited, for now, it just works

Last minute things

• Language problems: The languages system is not implemented yet, to configure your system in your desired language, use elpanel, and after that, select your language on: Configuration menus of E17 -> Languages, otherwise, you will have language problems
